Don’t want to add protein powder into your smoothies but still want a hit of protein? Or maybe you want a creamy smoothie without adding any dairy. Either way, this smoothie fits the bill. Adding silken tofu to a smoothie creates a creamy smoothie with all the benefits of soy isoflavones. The flavour of silken tofu is quite neutral, so it goes with just about anything. The tahini adds to the creaminess and boosts the calcium content from the juice and the tofu. This smoothie provides 107mg of calcium and a whopping 10.6g of fibre. Have it for breakfast, or as an afternoon pick-me-up.
Ingredients
- 100g organic silken tofu
- ¾ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 100g frozen banana
- 1 heaped tsp tahini (or you could try a nut butter, such as almond)
Method
- Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
